ifilm introduces now-famous Iranian actors whose careers were launched with their first roles.   

The leading roles of the TV and cinema flicks used to be offered to more seasoned actors; and the young actors have traditionally been given less important or supportive roles. As this tradition has been gradually changing in Iranian filmmaking industry, we have witnessed fresh performers to enter the industry. Some of these new arrivals have proven to be the best picks as they succeeded to find their way to people’s hearts and rise to fame.

Mostafa Zamani in ‘Prophet Joseph’

The most prominent name that surely goes on top of the list is Mostafa Zamani whose portrayal of Prophet Joseph made it impossible for his name to fade away.

In a recent interview with the media, Zamani defines his first acting experience as, ‘Even after I am dead, people will remember me with my role in ‘Prophet Joseph’’.

Some 250 acting enthusiasts auditioned for the character of Leila in popular series ‘Father’; but it was Reyhaneh who left everyone disappointed and was cast to portray the part which placed her next to top stars such as Mehdi Soltani-Sarvestani and Laya Zanganeh.
